Saturday Doldrums....

It snowed.

I have tomatoes in the ground.

I hope they survive.
Can you see the snow blowin'?

I was bored outta my mind.

I decided to bake instead of playin' mindless games on Facebook.
Besides, I'm outta energy in every freakin' game.
I attempted to bake cinnamin rolls....usin' yeast.
I've never used yeast before in my life.
Roy rolled his eyes and left the kitchen.
He knows I'm not a baker.
This is what happens when I'm left alone in the kitchen.
The rolls are bakin' right now.
I'll have to let you know later how they turn out.
They smell good.
But that doesn't mean they won't make good hockey pucks or bricks.

I bet they turn out just fine. The only time I've had them come out as hockey pucks was when the yeast was dead. I've learned not to rush that whole blooming process. Duh.

Here's a good & quick bread that you don't have to let rise...

3 1/2 cups self-rising flour
1 egg
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup sugar
1 12oz can of beer

Mix it all together and bake @ 350in a loaf pan for about 45 min to an hour until the top is golden brown. Makes one loaf.

The bad thing about this bread is that it gets hard when it gets cool. To warm it I wrap it in a damp paper towel in some Saran wrap and nuke it for about a minute.

Later...

Baking with yeast is hard but the results, when it works right, are so yummy! Good luck and eat a cinnamon roll for me!

My shirts look the same way after baking. You should see my kitchen. Man, I can't believed it snowed! I don't want to see anymore snow.

I'm so sick of snow! Thankfully, it missed us this time...only got as far as western AR. I was in Tennessee at the end of the week and it was warm and partly cloudy there. YAY!
